For one the Spurs aren't that far behind them so they don't wanna get cute and end up with "only" 69 wins and the Spurs fukk around and win 70. And if he means rest I would assume he would mean as far as minutes are concerned. Not sitting cats like Draymond Klay and Steph out for the last 4 or 5 regular season games.

They never had the luxury of playing in a weak Eastern Conference (outside of the Orlando Magic) or playing at a time when there were two new expansion teams introduced to the league (Vancouver Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors). :yeshrug:
warriors play in an era where teams are blatantly tanking:yeshrug:

Having Game 7 at home in the Western Conference Finals is HUGE... especially if the Warriors play the Spurs. The Warriors have had major trouble winning in San Antonio historically and last season too.
The #1 seed isn't worth risking injury for.
Yeah having game 7 on your floor when the home team historically wins it 80% of the time isn't a big deal. It's not like that's a sample size of more than 100 games to show having game 7 at home matters.
