Looks like MPJ is getting traded one way or another
I hope not when the issue is Murrays fat/hurt/whatever he got going on. Saw him say he was dealing with a foot issue but homie enters every season fat and starts slow. Also god help this team if Lavine is expected to be our primary POA defender. I guess you can put him at SF but that leaves us with AG/PSwat/Tyson as th only forwards for depth

They need to lock Malone and Calvin in a room and whoever leaves alive they run their vision for the team. Having a GM trying to (unsuccessfully) establish a dynasty vs a coach who is tryna win now is a nightmare scenario. All these bums are wasting Jokic prime

I’d be on board for Cam Johnson and DFS, Hunter and Bogi, or Jimmy, for MPJ plus salary/pick.

I’ll pass on Lavine and Ingram.

His value is fine as an add in. His contract decreases year over year, and he’s young enough that teams can talk themselves into him just needing a change in scenery.

That’s why you use them all together. If you’re just trading Zeke, no ones interested. If you add in MPJ and the pick, you can actually get something

The issue is that it isn’t the starters that our the issue it is the bench and I’m not sure how that helps. Also losing size, length, and rebounding with MPJ being trading. I also don’t think you allow booth to break up the big four when it was his decisions that got Denver in this mess to begin with

I’m lower on MPJ on most, but I dont think he can be a 1 or really even a 2. He can’t really create anything for himself, so he’s just an off ball scorer.

A lot of that has to due with the nuggets offensive scheme. Denver has coached a lot of that being a first or second option out of mpj for the sake of Jamal. The offensive should have involved to incorporate a lot more of MPJ but it never came and that is on Malone.

Calvin isn’t trying to build a dynasty and even his referencing of the spurs shows he doesn’t know what he was talking about. Manu and Parker both developed behind solid vers before they were ready to truly contribute. The spurs didn’t rely on them to contribute championships and compete in the west right away.

Booth is using Jokic’s prime as a way to develop his pet projects. No way Tyson and Pickett get guaranteed details on any other team. Booth has to go after this season if they don’t win a championship

MPJ has had chances to do more over the years when guys are out. He always looks horrible doing it.

But I agree with the starters not being the problem. That’s why if we’re gonna trade him I’d like it to be a 1 for 2. Get someone like hunter or cam Johnson that can do most of what MPJ can do with the starters for less money, and pick up an extra rotation guy.

Tyson's only strength is his willingness to hustle and I feel like I've seen picket hit one career 3

Not to gas MPJ but he and Jokic are the only people that seem able to consistently hit 3s. I'll hold till ASB to judge Mal but if he could guard who was in front of him and shoot 50% from the field more than 1 in 4 games then the Nuggets would be in a totally different situation

I think it is unfair to critique MPJ on this front because Malone and the coaching staff have coached him out of being the guy and shaped him more in being a piece. That is a completely different mindset and you can’t just switch back and forth. We have seen how when he has it going they freeze him out for some unknown reason.

My fear is we trade mpj and then we see his full offensive skill set and Jamal stays a fringe all star guard that struggles against size and we lose the only real three point threat we had on the roster

A week ago I was like “if we can stay on the other side of the bracket as OKC and the wolves, we have a shot at the finals”. Not sure I’ve ever seen a team crater so quickly.
