i copped

but i don't know :to:
Iwata has to go. He's steering the titanic into the iceberg unwavering with a slow and steady hand. With everything falling apart around him his response is we'll just keep doing what we've done for decades and if we keep doing that things will right themselves eventually.

Nintendo's next system after the Wii should have been a console / portable hybrid that could plug up to the TV or be played on the go with the same games either way. Instead they made a console / portable hybrid that's tethered to the console side and isn't portable.

miyamoto said no one wants F zero. Better off trying to get another starfox game :duck:
Fzero is done..

but again to my point you're asking for rehashed games from 1992 and stuff...i mean really...do you wonder why nobody is motivated to buy a Wii-U?

Maybe they can come out with another earthbound or pilotwings game while we're here...haven't seen a new Dr. Mario game...how about mario teaches typing-U? Gotta have that too :camby:

PUT OUT A FUCCING STARFOX GAHTDAMN IT :damn:

Mario kart
Starfox

And im in :ahhh:
the franchises are tired. Nintendo desperately needs an Adult Swim style brand they can put out games on that excite adults to their Cartoon Network style kids and family brand. Things like Zelda becoming more cinematic and giving the characters voice acting should have happened. Everything they do can't be pumping out the same core franchises they've been putting out for decades and nothing more. I was playing Mario Kart as a child and that's still their premiere franchise and i'm 30.

Really what messed Nintendo up was Microsoft. The PS2's dominance masked it and the Wii's gimmick motion controls masked it. remember before the PS2 era Nintendo was one of two major players in the market. there's three now. the Gamecube wasn't a hot selling system but the Xbox's low numbers masked that fact. The Wii's motion controls moved a lot of systems but most of those Wiis sat there after people got bored with the gimmick controls.

Now with the Wii U everything is a level playing field with all three of these systems coming out close to at the same time. there's no gimmicks to save Nintendo. Microsoft figured out how to penetrate the market and the modest sales they had with the Xbox are a thing of the past. Nintendo is still stuck at Gamecube level success and Microsoft is far beyond that now.

He said he wasn't aware that there was still a demand for one(last few sold like shyt) and that he really didn't know what to do with the series.
It would be nice if they started outsourcing some of these IPs like they did with Luigi's Mansion. I dont think fans would have a problem with it as long as they dont just go with the lowest bidder and put out shytty games like Capcom does.

the Wii was genius because they knew the only way to compete with the companies with more money was to differentiate themselves but the wii u was failure to capitalize on this new segment they created because instead of going the next step with motion controls they jumped on the tablet craze but I immediately knew that a tablet controller would not translate to a groundbreaking experience and they needed to come out with an oculus rift type device but i don't think tech was ready for such an underpowered system

This new segment didn't buy any games. 90% of Wii owners got it as gift or bought it with maybe 2-3 games and that's it.

those people were never gonna buy games. they weren't gamers they just got caught up in the next trend and when the bubble popped that was that.

Nintendo should either do a portable console that plugs up to a TV as well or just partner with Sony or Microsoft as in house developers on the console side and continue to do their own thing on the portable side. in the PS2 era the video game market drastically expanded but Nintendo's core audience people that will buy a Nintendo home console just to play Nintendo games didn't. its still at about 20-30 million tops. the PS3 and Xbox sold 80+ million with little to no gimmicks.

i'm sorry but Nintendo doesn't have the finances to put out a competitive console selling them at huge losses like Sony and Microsoft and their brand ain't gonna move enough consoles to make them relevant to anybody but their diehard fans.

instead Nintendo chooses to act like Blockbuster in the face on Sony and Microsoft's Netflix / Redbox. one day they'll come to understand what many of us already know. there's just no reason for Nintendo to continue making dedicate TV style home consoles anymore.

Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Mega Man X ect.. SNES had pif for days then N64 was kinda dope but had that terrible controller so they had to rely on first party games for the most part and that trend extended into their following consoles. i was just playing my snes emulator and :ohlawd: did they have games for days.

WTF happened? I'll still buy one but damn get back to making some ill games. Or use the same energy you put into that damn 3ds and make some Wii games.

I disagree and think that Nintendo is their own biggest problem.
Their current CEO is very conservative and has gone on record in saying he isnt trying to compete. Nintendo's investors have also shown they aren't as willing to take massive losses at the beginning of each gen like MS and Sony. MS' move to move gaming online and all the other things they've done are things Nintendo could adjust to if they really wanted to. They're a billion dollar company and were printing money during the vast majority of last gen.

The fact that Nintnedo refuses to implement basic things like an account system, being caught off guard by the difficulties of HD despite being a gen late, and things like pandering to a small audience with Nintendo Directs instead of announcing games at E3 are why its the Wii U is flopping.

These are all 3rd party games from Japanese companies that put the vast majority of their games on handhelds or smartphones these days.
