This speech was really bad, and belies a major flaw in the Superman ethos
"Superman is human just like us" becomes an excuse for Superman to embrace the most indulgent elements of humanity which a hero should be above. I'm sure he's great to have a beer with, but the very fact that he puts on a bright costume and chooses us his powers to save people puts him in a very different position. If you were falling off a roof would you call for me of fukkin Superman?
Why do we protest the police? Because they're "only human" but when you take on certain roles you have a standard to uphold. Y'all want Superman to be the invincible alien that saves everyone and a regular old human at the same time. This requires a lot of cognitive dissonance
That's to say that Superman can't feel emotions, but if he's gonna be a big ass baby flying off the handle he's just a PG-13 Homelander![]()
I get what you're saying but that's the only thing keeping him from being Homelander. Nobody in that universe could realistically stop him if he didn't care. I took it as him establishing the difference between him and Ultraman more than anything. There's no more kryptonite on the planet, no more Ultraman, lol he has to have some kind of weakness and that's his humanity.

Mind you I started all of this with saying I like the movie, I just think Superman is the weakest part, but even if I didn't it shouldn't matter
