so a covid free unvaccinated worker is a bigger risk to patients and should lose their job but an asymptomatic covid positive worker is allowed to work ? :ohhh:

I mean this is what the CDC is essentially saying :yeshrug:
A non vaccinated employee who gets sick from covid is more likely to have more severe problems leading up to death than a vaccinated employee. Do you want someone who is not protected from the virus and likely to have more health problems with the virus working in a hospital with patients?

If your sick grandmother comes to the hospital, surely you would take comfort in knowing that the people working with your grandmother are protected from the virus to the fullest extent science allows and most likely have less chance of passing the virus around therefore protecting your grandmother in the process?

Vaccine doesn't prevent transmission as NY showed.

False. The problem EVERYONE repeating this nonsense fails to consider is NO vaccine gives 100% protection to 100% of people and the breakthrough cases are still less than 1%., a number predicted 2 years ago....

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/6403678001

The overwhelming majority of 5 BILLION vaccinated people have never even caught COVID.

So how does NY have one of the highest rates of covid transmission if it has forced vaccination and the unvaccinated are banned from public arenas?

How effective is a fence at keeping out intruders if 1/3 of it is full of huge, gaping holes???

not true. Had covid. Was mild af and back to normal in 3 days.

BUT if what you say is true and they’re so sick what makes you think they’ll even come to work :jbhmm: like if the symptoms for unvaccinated are so bad how are they spreading the virus to patients if they’re too sick to work?

Thats you. Not everyone is you.

People spread and be sick before they "realize" they are sick. And then you'll have the types who will be sick and still try to work.

you mean like the covid positive asymptomatic workers the CDC is allowing to continue working?

to answer your initial question I’d be less concerned if the worker had a vaccine and more convlcerned if they actually had fukking covid :mjlol: im not gonna be like nah you can take care of my gma you got covid but you’re vaccined so it’s cool bro! :russ:

-As an employee I don't really see the issue. I work for the MPLS Public School system now & they do weekly testing for unvaxxed people on site. It's a swab & only takes 15 minutes for results.
-As an employer I can't call it cause I don't know who actually pays for these tests.

Now that the Supreme Court has made their decision I’m waiting on that email from the union at my job letting all members know that we don’t have to get vaccinated and we don’t have to worry about getting fired if we don’t get tested every week.

I work for a major university and it sounds like all the union members that work on the main campus should be good but all the union members that work at the hospital will still have to get the shot or get a medical or religious exemption or lose their job.

The union at my job fought the required vaccine shot that university wanted everybody… I’m talking… student, factually and staff… to get at the beginning of the school year. So… at the beginning of the school year everybody was required to get the shot but not us union members because it didn’t say anywhere in our bargained for contract that we were required to get a vaccine shot to work at the university.

But when the president came with that last federal vaccine mandate… we got a email from our union stating that it overrides our union contract. But now since it’s been struck down by the Supreme Court we should be right back to where we were. Well… all of us besides the union members that work at the hospital.

When I get that email from my union I’ll come back to this thread and let those interested know what it says.

Was a bad Supreme Court decision - in-before a bunch of clueless Coli brehs pretend they understand OSHA's mandate and administrative law.

The dissent from Sotomayor, Kagan and Breyer was on point.

The other SCOTUS decision was a lot better and more well-reasoned.
