Russ has lost 22 of his last 29 playoff games and that's while playing with 5 different rosters on 3 different teams. At some point you can't blame EVERY fukking roster he's on, you have to admit the problem is him.
Claiming that Russ should be the primary ballhandler for a contender flies in the face of the fact that no one can be a contender if their primary ballhandler has WOAT bball IQ. And Russ's decision-making in the playoffs has been consistently terrible.
Also Russ could have been the #3 scoring option behind PG13/Carmelo in 2018, he could have been the #3 scoring option behind PG13/Schroder in 2019, he could have been the #3 scoring option behind Harden/Gordon in 2020. ALL of those players were more likely to put the ball in the bucket than Russ was. Yet Westbrook insisted on taking the most shots on the team in all of those series, he even took more than Harden in the 2020 Laker series when Westbrook was coming back from injury. That's on him.
If you replace PG13 or Kawhi with Westbrook that team would suck ass.
If you magically want to put a max player on the Clips without taking anyone off? Well, right now the Clippers are averaging 112ppg on 49% shooting in this series, offense isn't their problem. Throw Westbrook on that team with his crappy shooting nights and are you really certain their offense would get any better? Kawhi 34ppg on 54%, PG13 26ppg on 50%, Batum 10ppg on 54%, Rondo 8ppg on 56%, Westbrook ain't gonna improve those #'s, all he's gonna do is take shots away from efficient shooters.
And defense? THAT is where the Clippers' problems are, giving up 120ppg on 54% shooting (50% from 3pt).
Russ ain't gonna do jack shyt to help the Clippers' defense.
