What them ROMs looking like though?![]()
Honestly I wished they pushed off TOTK as a launch title for Switch 2. Would have been a cool way to show the difference in power of OG vs 2 since both of the games run in the same enginNintendo is beloved; it's the Disney of gaming
the peak of family friendly franchises and at home multiplayer
it would need multiple franchise tanking to not be successful
hardcore gamers dont have a buy in franchise even though the direct was trying to appeal to that population of gamers with elden ring, Cyber punk, the dark souls multiplayer game and Final Fantasy ...
the system could sold more
Nintendo didn't even go to a signature system seller like
a new animal crossing or zelda at launch![]()
OG Switch launched with BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon and Xenoblade 2. Even launching Arms. That is honestly not the norm with Nintendo. Might honestly be easily their best launch lineup since the SNES.Nintendo is always like this. Most launch games likely ports. At least this time the Mario Kart was a new game.
This is true. Will & Will U really lacked games period. Like even their 1st Parties didn't offer that much imo. That's my main concern. Moving a ton of hardware is great, but what about software sales?
People forgot that Wii sold a ton of hardware but was very weak in software. I don't have the numbers, but both Sony and Microsoft made more money than Nintendo that gen due to Nintendo being much weaker on software. It's going to be interesting to see how Nintendo navigates with the industry changing. Games are taking longer to make and niche titles are now becoming more mainstream. Xbox Series S should help them with devs being more comofrotable working on weaker hardware but they can't afford to miss out on certain titles imo.
Sony fukked up on not supporting the Vita properly.

People discuss the Steam Deck, but that would be the handheld that would have challenged Nintendo right now.
Switch 1 launch is probably Nintendo's best launch of all time.Honestly I wished they pushed off TOTK as a launch title for Switch 2. Would have been a cool way to show the difference in power of OG vs 2 since both of the games run in the same engin

Switch and very likely Switch immensely benefit from having the console and handhelds titles being on one console. Pokémon and Fire Emblem are big showcases of that, even ignoring the quality of the Pokémon games.
- Mario
- Pokemon
- Zelda
- Splatoon
- Animal Crossing
- Fire Emblem
- Xeno
- Kirby
Also, another factor is that at least in Japan, The Swtich 2 is still a budget console. I highly expect Japanese Devs will try to push for a Switch 2 version.
On the Western Development front, I don't expect much in terms of Nintendo Support. OG Switch had many broken ports from Western Devs and I don't doubt that will change. Support like Nintendo gets from CDPR is more the exception.

I just show mine off to friends and coworkers but I rarely even play it. They be like ooooh I want one. I'm like word. However I'm not about to buy a camera and Gamechat with you nikkas over Mario I'm still addicted to Warzone.
I wonder what version of COD they gonna put on Switch 2...
Mario was almost 7 months after the Switch. BOTW was a port of a Wii U game. Xenoblade 2 was 9 months after release. Splatoon was what I'd consider a launch window game though.Honestly I wished they pushed off TOTK as a launch title for Switch 2. Hmm yeah if they delayed TotK as a Switch 2 launch title that would be great.
They wouldn’t have been able to get away with that. A direct sequel to BotW is fine on the OG Switch. But a brand new console…fans would expect a brand new Hyrule.

I'm not so sure about that. Mario Kart World is just Mario Kart 8 with a free roaming feature.
The Switch 2 itself is just a slightly more powerful Switch.
I’d typically agree with you but they took 7+ years to make a new metroid prime game and it looks spectacularly average
