But people don't act like Nelly is the toppest tier rapper. He got beaten comfortably by Luda in Verzuz.

TI thinks 50 is in Nelly's bracket. Dope, massive hits. Except he has that NY bias that props him up as something greater. And if he got to battle 50... he would show that he can match him hit for hit and beat him on the harder hip hop records or bars.


I think there's some validity to what he's saying. Except that 50 can get into his east coast bag and rap hard. Nelly can't. But he's right that if 50 was from MW, he wouldn't have that and be Nelly. Whereas Tip think of himself as southern Jay Z. He can do it all and is a real street nikka to boot.

This isn't even about bias. It is one thing to be bias, but in The South, I don't recall anyone making personal attacks on other coasts. On the East, you had people coming at The South sounding like white folk who make fun of Black people i.e. "ya'll don't even know how to talk, so how ya'll supposed to know how to rap". "Ya'll slow and dumb" are all East Coast references toward The South. Yeah, granted a lot of rappers down here aren't that great at lyricism, but neither is a lot of East Coast rap. 50 is a good example.
