Tumultuous Splendor
Not a Jay fan, but I almost ruled it a draw just because Nas said "Gay-Z." Breuuhhhs, if that ain't a grade school dis I've never heard one. Embarrassing.

You’re right, and gay is one thing, but Gay-Z might be the worst dis I’ve ever heard in my entire life that was actually put on wax. Least creative and wack.Rap disses in general are full of immature disses
On Takeover Jay called Nas a "faq model" which is just as immature as Gay Z.
It seems at one point in a rap beef you had to call your opponent gay at least once![]()
You can always tell who wasn't into hip-hop in the 90's because they claim the Serchlite publishing line is true.1). According to Serch, Nas did INDEED get paid off of Jay-Z sampling his voice. There was no Serchlite Publishing at the time that Jay—Z sampled Dead Presidents
2). How could Nas fall off before Stillmatic when he put out TWO platinum albums within the same year? One of those albums was acclaimed critically (I am) and One was not (Nastradamus) but two platinum albums in ONE year (something only DMX har achieved at the time) isn’t indicative of flopping
If it was as weak as you’re trying to claim, cats wouldn’t have written Nas off like they did. A big part of the reason Ether was so effective is because the perception was that there was no way he could come back from Takeover.
It workedYou’re right, and gay is one thing, but Gay-Z might be the worst dis I’ve ever heard in my entire life that was actually put on wax. Least creative and wack.
Matter of fact... yeah, it’s the worst until someone proves me different. That’d be a good thread actually. Someone get on that.
Not if you ask the Jay-Z crowd. I thought both were pretty weak to be honest, but I'm a big Nas fan. Jay I could do without. Battles over microphones are gay to begin with, but this one in particular always had meIt worked![]()
Yea both songs in the grand scheme are weak In their catalogue. Nas ether was just an absolute bomb when it dropped. Its impact was crazy. And ofcourse a jayz crowd would think that, they mad hov lost the battle. They thought he was untouchable. Not if you ask the Jay-Z crowd. Oh shyt. I did not know that.Nah I know P's story, I listened to his audiobook and all that. I know the whole thing with him figuring out Irv and Jay getting Ashanti to get the pics. And in them doing that, they were hunting to get pics on him. I doubt Ashanti came to them on some "I got pics of Prodigy as a child" shyt. They had to have talked her into getting them.
The whole thing is just creepy ass weirdo behavior. Not to mention one of the most overrated disses of all time. P was in a dance troupe when he was a kid...okay...so?
Nah he got at Nas on some more fact based shyt....i used your own words and you didn't even get paid off it. you weren't really about that street life, you just watched other ppl actually do it and tried to pass it off as your own experiences....you got outrapped on a song by your bodyguard and your weed carriers.
The problem is Jay just spit it too laidback and chill so ppl didn't really FEEL it like you want ppl to on a diss
I know Ether is classic but Nas's shyt is mostly sandbox elementary school insults....you ugly, whiskers like a rat, taebo hoe....the only real shyt he got Jay on is the fact Jigga has used too many of Biggie's rhymes and the fact that Beans at times outshined Jay on songs.
Nas just went at the diss with more fire and oomph which is why more ppl fukk with it even tho lyrically it's super light.
