Breh, they watch those Tyler Perry movies with the investment banker, law partner, etc. characters and really think there are tons of Black men outchea with those jobs! Black people, as a whole, represent less than 5% of the major "elite" professions: law, medicine, engineering.

Those are the careers that will get you a six-figure mid-career salary. Out of all the people I graduated from high school with (around 400 in my graduating class), only 3 of the Black men went on to pursue "elite" professions.

The rest of those nikkas are working in retail, working for UPS, or doing some other blue collar shyt.

Women want to serve a man PERIOD. Of course, its the best pick to have the most successful man but every woman cannot have THE MOST successful man. On top of that every one standards vary, so successful has many different forms. Like I said before the majority does not operate like you as you are an exception and not a representative of a majority.

You look at a broke man as not successful, there are many other women who value men for other things. Thus being broke is not a high priority attribute that a woman looks for in a man. I don't know a single black woman that wouldn't trade Tyrone's broke working class ass for a man with MORE. His damn character is not going to pay the bills, put food on table, etc.

Now whether y'all want to admit it or not MEN are largely judged by what they have accomplished. While women tend to be judge on their looks.

A black woman with looks and brains will not likely settle for a broke ninja. She is going to go for a man with more going for himself.

A man with means is not going to settle for a busted chick. He is going to go find one that is physically attractive to his liking.

The problem we have in the black community is the men are happy being mediocre and the women just settle for the bullshyt.

I knew one of my white brehs took a girl on a horrible date in college. I love the dude but he is horrible with women.(He's was a computer science major, he makes good cash now in a nice city but has no social skills, he still doesn't know how to drive and he's so damn stingy and cheap) He went on a date at the dining hall on campus and he asked the girl if she could pay for him too because he didn't have any lunch credits left.

Go on a cheap date but don't do some sucka shyt like that. We had a good laugh when the girl told everyone how horrible the date was.

Sigh....listen I'm black and female. Yet I managed to work my ass off through college and professional school to become a pharmacist. I'm working on establishing my own business in the white male dominated field of chemistry. I don't want hear no damn sob stories from folks who aren't even trying.

It is hard out here for black women too, but you don't see us letting racism and sexism stop us from getting our 40 acres and a mule. And before someone comes at me with "Black women are twofers...in the affirmative action world..." please note the MAIN people who have benefited from AA are white women...not black women.

Again, I work in a male dominated field where both black men and black women are almost non-existent. Nobody is going to convince me that I have it better than black men because I have a black vagina. Everything I have in this world I've had to work my ass off to get.
