We want successful men....Like you said successful is subjective and it also varies. What you think is successful does not represent everyone else.
Black women settle because more often than not a successful man (as define by general society...i.e., one who is accomplished, which can be subjective) are few and far in between amongst black men. Correct, especially what women in general standards are.
The black community's low standards for black men are mediocre amongst other races (i.e., never been to prison, got a job, etc)

Ok. However, you are assuming that paying the bills is what black women are looking for in a man. Men offer more than just "paying the bills" provided they have a constructive mindset.
Now whether y'all want to admit it or not MEN are largely judged by what they have accomplished. While women tend to be judge on their looks.
You can accomplish alot without having to spend a dime. You are giving the impression that money is the only thing that shows accomplishment.
A black woman with looks and brains will not likely settle for a broke ninja. She is going to go for a man with more going for himself.
"will not likely" this means there is always a chance that she will.
Again if a black woman wants a black man this selection is limited on the major scale. A woman wants a successful man, therefore he needs to appeal to her standards. The pool of selection is already small if you have very specific standards makes it smaller.
A man with means is not going to settle for a busted chick. He is going to go find one that is physically attractive to his liking.
The problem we have in the black community is the men are happy being mediocre and the women just settle for the bullshyt.
The reason it is that way is because the black man has been FEMINIZED. We are out here valuing stuff that makes us feel good and more immediate gratification MORE than what is most constructive. "Delayed gratification" things like learning skills in computer programming or becoming an oncologist give great satisfaction but are harder to achieve due to time, effort and the environment in which we have to work in. This brings us to things like sports easier because it is more direct and you can have satisfaction from just practicing sports immediately after you are done.
Women in general are settling because by nature y'all just want to FOLLOW something that adds excitement/charge to your life.
I say more black women need to opt out of dealing with these mediocre men.

2nd date is about the fun, this where the actives come into play. From the movies to bowling or whatever yall wanna do that night. You both know that this is now an investment and you wanna see how she or he handle in a more fast pace social settings.
2.5 Home dates, its been almost a month now and theyre comfortable with you to come over and yall make it a netflix night. This is when they check out the living space, to see if your clean or if theyre special enough for you to clean up for them. This is a important factor, some many thing can go wrong here but also it can also go
but thats not the goal. The cuddle game is needed, not the stroke game.
3 final date is some where along a month and a half..maybe two and this is where the big guns come out, money shouldnt be an issues that person is worth it and you pretty much got them but you need to steal the deal and let the person know you care about them. Now that the sexual tension is at its peak, its bout time to make that happen.
This is how it should be down fellas, yall don't take enough baby steps. So concern about getting the girl or the puss yall become reckless and set your own selves up for failure.
