My Pops Forever RIP
since this thread is about the J&J i had a question
my aunt went to go take the vaccine and when she got there they told her that they're not going to open a new batch of moderna and Pfzier just for her unless she brought another person
they then said we'll give you the J&J or nothing
she left because she doesn't want that one
has anyone else had that experience? this is the first time I'm hearing it.
she's in the Bronx and i'm suspecting :mjpls:
Shiiit I couldn’t get the J&J in the BX when it was my turn. BX was Moderna Mob

I had to go a church in Wash Heights to get the J&J

What's even more weird is intertwining the same mistrust of government with a mistrust of the vaccine (or science in general).

"Trusting the government" had nothing to do with me getting the jab. Instead I trusted the science

What if the science is being influenced by government intervention?

This is why I don't get democrats who were upset with people not trusting these vaccines

These are the same for-profit big pharma companies with a history of cruelty and harmful products that yall rally against that are making these vaccines :skip:

And you're surprised people don't trust them? :skip:

Biden, Kamala and all those top officials should’ve taken the vaccine with the general public at some random CVS. I remember reading some conspiracy nuts on Twitter talmbout how the VIP got injected with water to instill trust while the general public get the real medicine.

I’m really starting to think news does more harm than good when it comes to public health. Because the layman doesn’t understand what they’re reading past headlines.

I've said the same. A lot of times I get the feeling that journalists don't really understand what they're writing about themselves

Is that the case with J&J, Moderna, or Pfizer? Their research and studies get peer reviewed by other universities

And? Still doesn’t mean that political and governmental factors can’t come into play. We don’t know if the government didn’t give drug manufacturers COVID-19 lawsuit immunity lawsuit in exchange for creating the vaccine. One dude who suffered Bell’s palsy from the vaccine literally had to take up money for his hospital bills because I guess the government or drug companies wouldn’t cover it.

It’s a question that should be asked since we don’t know the long term effects of the vaccine. That’s also not counting the criticism that the government has faced over the past year for influencing CDC decision making.

They 100% don’t. To be fair, even in healthcare at the highest levels there’s too much info to parse properly, but everything you do in medicine comes with risks and benefits based on evidence. At least we understand that.

So you publish the benefits as well as the risk and let people decide for themselves.

Just a while ago, you had some people on here complaining that the media shouldn’t even publish the risks of the vaccines as it would scare people away from taking it.

No, because like I said, people don’t know what they’re reading. Look at this thread lol, no one read past the headline. There are detailed analyses the general public literally can’t comprehend. That’s asking a lot, healthcare and scientists literally get degrees to be just have basic proficiency in understanding studies info and statistics

So put in lamen terms for the average American to understand just like we do for other complex data and information.

The healthcare industry isn't the only one with that issue, so don't use it as an excuse.
