I used to live in Arlington (Ballston area), and I paid like $2200 a month for a small (small...) 1 bedroom.

In NYC, you’re paying $2500 for a studio. I’m SF you gotta pay like $3K for a studio.

Rent is so outrageous in DC, NYC, and SF. $2500 a month is not some astronomical amount; it’s the norm. You pay that much because the benefit of living there is access to the city (I only personally think NYC is worth it though)

Meanwhile Houston, Atlanta and Chicago give you more for less. Now those cities are a step below NYC/SF but are still good. Better than Iowa or Nevada or something like that

Imagine being stu- retarded enough to pay 2500 for a one fukking bedroom. Lmfaoooooo. I'd rather just save up for a down-payment.
To be fair, its not what you make but what you keep. In some fields and places $2500/mo for rent is not bad. For example my mortgage is nowhere near $2500 but when you add up gas and insurance on 2 cars it's close :francis:

But I'd rather have a car and the space :manny:

Then move because that sounds like stupid clown ass shyt that bytches fall for. 3 bedroom, den, laundry room, and I damn sure wouldnt pay 2500 unless Christina Milian licks my toes every night as part of the deal.
Owning a home in the metro area is fukking outrageous man

You have to be in amazing position to even consider making a good home investment in the area. A lot of people commute from over an hour or more out to work. And its not like that comes without cost too.

People don't know how good they got it living in areas with lower cost of living. shyt... most people would take massive pay cuts to simply not live in DC but work forces them there.

Yep. I rent a one bedroom house with a nice neat little garden at the back. Yesterday I lawned it nicely, clipped and watered the flowers and after that, had a nice little BBQ ribeye with a cold beer :obama:

And I’m not paying $2500 a month for this either :umad:

My rent is near $2,000 for a 1 bedroom in a high rise apartment. They’ve closed our pool/gym/common area but I still have an outdoor balcony on the 40th floor and view of the water...it’s not bad:manny:

Can still workout on it, chill and the sunsets have been dope :manny:

$2k rent on the 40th floor? :picard: at some point the number of floors should lower your rent by a lot.

your building ever lose power?

2000-2500 ain't even an outrageous spot in DC :mjlol:

a lot of those people who shared housing going through it too :wow: can't imagine dealing with rental property management AND roommates right now around Dupont

Its already happening with a rise in domestic violence cases all over the place. You got these roommates that hardly tolerate each other stuck in together going off. Only reasons they stick with it is the lower cost of splitting the rent.
