That same $2500 could've bought you a decent house with a yard and a porch that you can chill out on over in NE or SE but oh well. I guess them gentrification cacs gonna ghost out to Arlington or Bethesda after this is over.

I used to live in Arlington (Ballston area), and I paid like $2200 a month for a small (small...) 1 bedroom.

In NYC, you’re paying $2500 for a studio. I’m SF you gotta pay like $3K for a studio.

Rent is so outrageous in DC, NYC, and SF. $2500 a month is not some astronomical amount; it’s the norm. You pay that much because the benefit of living there is access to the city (I only personally think NYC is worth it though)

Meanwhile Houston, Atlanta and Chicago give you more for less. Now those cities are a step below NYC/SF but are still good. Better than Iowa or Nevada or something like that
