looking at old baseball stats and Babe Ruth doesnt make sense. he came on the scene in NY and was outpacing the rest of the league from a power/slugging standpoint in just an absurd way

old baseball stats are a fun rabbit hole sometimes

I was just looking at them and noticed he only had one MVP and didn't even get votes for other years (especially 60 HR 1927) only to learn that there used to be rules that if you won AL MVP you were ineligible to win another one. Crazy.

He wasn’t playing against superior competition via the Negro Leagues :mjpls:
I’m well aware of that lol, not the point I’m making, that’s a whole separate convo. I’m speaking about his numbers relative to everyone else that played those seasons. He was outpacing people like crazy, it’s wild

rumor has it that he was a negro - at least part.

The story goes his famous called-shot was in response to being called the n-word from the Cubs dugout.

That's Blake Griffin if I've ever seen him.

Would explain why he was running laps around his inferior competition

Any A's fans on here? Do yall hate Robbie Grossman too? That thread about most hated athletes in your state just has me thinking of old Twins players I hate. Robbie Grossman and Tom Prince are at the top of that list to me. :scust:

He wore the helmet forward underneath his catcher mask and that shyt always bothered me
