Linderbaum didn't have his best year last year. I'm sure a lot can be blamed on Faalele and Vorhees, but he's not without blame. A good center calls out protections and elevates the play of the guards. They also dominate at the 2nd level when given the chance. Linderbaum got blown up a few times at the 2nd level by Safeties and LBs last year. He's undersized. He also did next to nothing to elevate those around him, and Lamar was pressured heavily in between the tackles.

A logical GM would look at Linderbaum's year and not be ok, making him the highest paid center in the league because that's what it's going to cost them. Eric does some illogical shyt sometimes, though. With the year Linderbaum had, a rookie, Jake Slaughter from Florida or Coogan from Indiana can do that for a fraction of the cost, which allows them to bring in a veteran at guard on the cheap. I'm sure that veteran guard will help the rookie center adjust.

I'm with you.
I noticed everyone who wants us to sign Linderbaum, never put up a number or max offer.
There are always pros and cons... everyone's always complaining after the fact, which is why I wanna see everyone's max offer for Linderbaum.

EDC deserves a lot of blame, but our fanbase seems to forget->
It's a salary cap league...
It takes 2 to get a signing/extension done...
It takes 2 to trade...

O line should be the priority but at the same time don’t reach in the draft. In a hypothetical situation Ravens do draft a WR at 14, who do y’all like the most?

Makai Lemon
Carnell Tate
Jordyn Tyson
Denzel Boston

I get the argument against Lemon because of his height but he’s the same height as St Brown and 1 inch shorter than Nabers, JSN & Chase.

Tyson has some injury concerns but who knows if that will continue or if that was just bad luck.

Then you got Tate & Boston at 6’3 & 6’4.
I think Lemon is the best of those 4

me personally Ive never been a fan of the Tee Higgins archetype so im not as high on Tate as others

I like receivers who can get open and don’t rely on contested catches and finding holes in the zone

Probably 4 years / 80 million…. with 50 guaranteed.
Creed Humphrey (who is better) got 18 per year but that was 2 years ago.

Mentioned if that's all Linderbaum wanted, a deal would've most likely been done last year.
There are reports he wants $23m - $24m to start negotiating.

We declined Linderbaum’s fifth year option because it would have been $23.4M for 2026, which is $5.4M above the highest paid center.

The option number seems to be his baseline.

the rumor during the season was his agent was asking for the same deal Kyle got

4 years 100 mill

Im not paying that for Linderbaum

So $25M APY lmaooo

Which is why I ask folks, what's their max offer for Linderbaum.
I got answers in the range of $18M to $20M APY.

If, and when it happens a segment on our fan base would put this on EDC.
Will question why we let him walk lol.
Will question why we drafted a Center in the first round, but now want to draft a guard at 14 lol (while not knowing much about offensive play and the Center position or projecting college to pro). For most seasoned scouts, Center is one of the most difficult positions to scout.

he is universally graded as top 5 at his position. who cares if you have to overpay. We did the same song and dance with Ronnie . My position is sign Tyler and get a G in the draft. If good lineman were a dime a dozen, every team would have them.
offense line grades are bullshyt

espn had us raked us ranked as one of the best olines in the league but we all watch the games and know what we see with our own eyes

Ronnie is a below average LT and isn’t worth the deal they gave him

Linderbaum is average at best

making him the highest paid center by a mile would be a mistake longterm IMO

Linderbaum is gone. Eric has done a lot of bad extensions, Ozzie too, but this won't be one of them. The main problem with the 5th year option on guards and centers is that the pay is the same. Centers have always been paid less than guards. Why the 5th year and I believe the franchise tag too are set up like that, are beyond me.

I also heard some GMs have been warning Eric to not pay Linderbaum 20m+. These owners and GMs all collude when it comes to drafting and signing players. They're not paying him what he wants and I doubt anyone else pays him over 20m in FA. 20m, maybe, over that, not likely.

I think the way the Ravens oline is set up, Lamar won't have the time needed for your preferred receiver type to get open, since most routes need time to develop unless a pick is designed or the defense is out of position. Every receiver type has their place, and every QB needs atleast one of each. Outside of DHop, the Ravens don't/won't have the contested catch receiver. If the Ravens decide to not get one of the top receivers, I hope they can get Surratt from Indiana.

Lamar hasn't really been the type of QB to throw his receivers open. He waits until they're open and then throws, which is why his interception rate is so low. I think Doyle will ask him to throw his receivers open this year amongst other things we haven't seen Lamar do. Now more than ever, I think he will need those contested catch/possession receivers who attack the ball.

Offseason so you gotta find something to talk about. As far as I know, Lamar was there for Roman & Monken’s first year as OC.

I expect he’ll show up since it’s Doyle’s first year as OC. :manny:
