This is against the cba, Every NFL contract extension must be submitted to the league office. Ravens would lose massive amount of picks and fines. This is not what happened.. he'd probably be restructured tomorrow if hes not extended.
Gentleman's agreement happens all the time in the business of the NFL.
According to Jeff Zrebeic, The Ravens do not execute roster moves until they have to or when it strategically benefits the team.

Well yea that's every team, you dont restructured until you have too but conversation happens before hand. What he's hinting it is a contract extention happened which the Ravens would have to announce to the league. Lamar and Ravens haven't done anything, they will when/if they have too. Every agent knows what Lamar can be restructured too, they get paid the big bucks of that type of analysis
Teams have restructured player contracts (i.e. Patrick Mahomes) during this cycle, and they did not have to at the point.

The point of the post is the Ravens front office approach is to execute when necessary. The post is in response to anxious fans wondering wtf is happening in regard to Lamar contract extension or restructure.
