1) A good coach that doesn't make mistakes in the clutch
2) A point GAWD that can distribute, doesn't turn the ball over and can score 15-20ppg
3)A scoring GAWD that can score at will.
4)2 Bigs that play decent defense and rebound WELL. Points are gravy especially if its over 10ppg in the playoffs.
5)A bench that is competent and manage the game. A bench that can rebound and play D well is most beneficial and if they can score 30-40 ppg then there is less pressure on the starting 5.

Most times you need a player that can score in the paint. Preferably a Big..... a defensive big is optional....... your whole team should be able to defend decently

The 2004 Pistons are the only team in the last 25 years that won a championship without having an elite scorer. They are the sole exception to the rule. Try winning a championship with another roster like that and you'll lose your job before it happens. Basically they were like this years Denver Nuggets. You've never seen a team before or after that win a championship without the 5 things I listed.

04 Pistons were a Rasheed Wallace mistake away from repeating not a fluke at all. It can be done with the right personnel and coach.

You also need the right coach. It's been a LONG time since a team won a title without a great coach.

A lot of teams have all 5 of those things and don't win.

OTOH, Miami won two titles without number 5 on the list.
