I was reading up on Tacticus and his writings...because he was one of the first to mention Jesus..outside of scriptures during that time.

I'm sure you know Roman's diet consisted of alot of pork...beef was rare and they also ate dormice...it was a delicacy. Beef was more common in Greece.

A rich powerful man having a boy to..."serve him" wasn't frowned upon. ..words for hetero or homosexual didnt exist...you were looked down on if you were submissive role though

It was seen as if you had self discipline in your sex life and other areas then you could govern properly.

The value system is judged on its effectiveness and results. They get clowned because their value system has failed them, yet they grip onto it tighter. More so, they have no means to enforce it on others further compounding the issue.


The arbitrary borders we draw around each other as humans serve a purpose. they are utilitarian and aimed at resource acquisition. You cannot deny that the race concept is an incredibly efficient way of grouping many disparate peoples together to gang up on other people. By comparison, the use of culture/local ethnicity is foolish. Its the equivalent of ditching arabic numerals for roman numerals, then trying to do modern calculus.


Hence all the clowning of those people.

If you read the writings of both Greeks and Romans you’d realize Northern and Western Europe was absolutely shytted on. Northern Europeans is where the word “Barbarian” comes from. And they almost put black people (Egyptian and Nubians) on a pedestal.

I admire a lot of things about the Romans but their preference for pork and affinity for dormice is not one of them

Rubbish, it was the most important city in the world outside of Asia, people from England and Spain in the west to India in the east and to Ethiopia in the south would have at least travelled there frequently if not have lived there, to buy and sell goods. It was the New York, Wall Street of the era. How many different ethnic groups do you see in New York today? Rome would have been the same.

Anybody and his family, regardless of race or origin, automatically became a citizen with full rights upon completing 15 years military service. If you join up when you're 16 and get out at 31, you've got the whole rest of your life ahead of you with all the privileges and all the rights of a Roman-born white man
