That was an unique case that arisen from the transatlantic slave trade.
also happened with the US Civil War. Else Why do we think white people were also so quick to cling on to their skin as being their identity after it was over?

I wonder how similar would Louisiana be to Rome (in valuing culture over skin) if we didn't go through that bullshyt United States indoctrination

Race is a relatively modern concept
People were judged on culture than skin color
Romans were :mjpls: to literally everyone who wasn't them, even Greeks
Romans had more respect for Africans (especially Egyptians) than Northern Europeans
You were clowned for wearing pants:mjlol:

Funny they also remember all the Jews were black

@Get These Nets regarding your screenshot:

I know who those eastern Ethiopians are, they're south Indians, as Arrian of Nicomedia wrote in his Anabasis of Alexander: "the southern Indians resemble the Ethiopians a great deal in their countenance and complexion, except they are not quite so woolly haired or as broad in the nose."

It literally says they're black with the differences in the end. :beli:

One third of Rome's territory was in North Africa and a small part of it was in East Africa. They also found Roman coins in Mali and northern Nigeria. Black people were definitely prominent enough in the Empire.

There was always trade.

There weren’t that many black people around in Ancient Rome then so basically they were all the same colour

Rome & the Kush Kingdom (23 BC – 100 AD)

"The proof of the fact that the black inhabitants lived in Rome is evidenced by the event of 61 CE when the Roman emperor Nero organized in amphitheatre spectacle of hunting Ethiopian hunters."

"What is worth mentioning, the black people were not slaves and servants in the Roman world. Some of them became writers, chiefs, and philosophies, and according to the Byzantine chronicler John Malalas, even emperor Septimius Severus had dark skin, though it does not seem to be black; he sooner had a Berber origin and was the first emperor from Africa (he was born in Libya). As for the slaves, even the blacks were liberated and became prominent citizens of Rome."

Funny how we’re so brainwashed under racism that the concept seems incredibly futuristic to the point where it borders fiction.

Different times. The civilized world at that point was Mediterranean Europe, Asia Minor (Turkey), the Levant, Persia, and Africa. They’d be silly to be racist. The Mediterranean was a crossroads of all races. Western Europe however was irrelevant….cities like modern day London, Berlin or Paris would be like going to towns on the ice trucker roads in Canada today :russ:

Facts. The center of power in Europe shifted from south to north over the past 1500 years. London and Paris were backwater villages during the Roman Empire.
