Agreed ESPECIALLY with your point about childhood trauma. Perpetuating violence like that is never okay, especially not on your kids. Scars may heal but the mental abuse and trauma inflicted will interfere with their lives forever, unless they are willing to go to therapy and seek help so that they can try to lead more healthier lives. If you resort to "beatings", find a better way to discipline them. Police brutality is not an excuse, it doesn't serve as a warning for your kids and keep them off the streets, it only makes them fear you. Kids need a safe space to flourish and grow.Absolutely not. White children don't have a world out there against them. Black children can't afford to go through childhood trauma brought on by child abuse and at the same time be prepared for the world.
It's the reason why some people respect their parents, and why some people fear them. It's not the same thing.
