This is my favorite Ethiopian beer

spm_a3674.jpg
never seen that one before. I would definitely try it though. The Habesha was the first Ethiopian beer I've had. It did not miss. When I picked up those tall cans today. I saw a new Jamaican beer in the International section. They were both Dragon something, but I don't recall the name of the brewery.

I like the St George more than the Habesha but it doesn’t have as good distribution

Dragon Stout Fire

I've had the OG, but not the "fire" version.

These are like 9 oz bottles, not the usual 12oz...

In terms of taste - it's fine, like a less heavy Guinness.

I crave it from time to time, but I'll go years without drinking it.

Unlike Dragon's Milk/Kentucky Breakfast Stout/Kentucky Bourbon Barrel etc.

Beer day today. So I picked up a couple of things on the way home.

Nightcap beer for the evening is the Affogato World Wide Stout by Dogfish Head. ABV is 15%. I'm not the biggest fan of Dogfish as a brewery but every once in a while they have something that catches my eye and then when I try it. I'm not disappointed. This is a nice stout, but that 15% is noticeable.

:pachaha:

not my pic but basically this person had the same idea as me down to the glass choice.

Had to wrap up some end of the month shyt for work today. So worked much later than I want. So time to enjoy a little brew and hopefully watch Maryland not fukk up one of their few winnable games this season.

Beer for the night is the KBS Iced Latte abv is 11% and the style is Blonde Golden Ale. Founders makes some damn good beers and this is another in that long line of good beers. The coffee notes are mellow, the vanilla and the barrel aging hit with every sip. It's smooth and easy drinking. Highly recommend.

yeah this is a must grab if you have them out your way.

I was at the chi chi likka sto (Total Wine and More), they might have it. Will prolly cop this, cause it seems I'm the only cat in the DMV that will buy anything with "bourbon barrle" in the label.

Had that Tart Cherry last month at Hops club. I've not been able to find it again at any of the spots by my crib. It wasn't bad, but I didn't get a good read/taste on it. So I've been looking for it again.

I'm a "1 and done" type of dude. If it don't grab me off rip, it's for the bushes.

I'd rather drink water than drink beer I don't like.

This is what I said about it

6. Bourbon Barrel Tart Cherry Wheat by Lexington Brewing Co
  • Fruited Wheat Beer is the style (8% ABV)
  • The only other Cherry wheat that I can recall off the top of my head is Sam Adams, and this is more wine like vs the cough syrup vibe of the SA.
So I want to try it again on a more clear palate. Cause I didn't hate it. But needed to drink more of it.

Tonight's Tall Can Saturday is the Maris American Pale Ale by Vine Street Brewing. ABV is 5.3% This is a black owned brewery in KC. Haven't made it to their facility as they were renovating last year. But, I'm going to hit it up this year. I didn't know they were finally starting to put their beers out for distribution. So when I saw them at the shop on beer day, I had to grab them. Easy drinking Pale Ale with a mellow citrus taste on the finish. Can't go wrong for an easy drinking 4 pack of Tall Cans.
