Nope, Rock's movie career took off after his came back @ WM27 and used his old fanbase to put a boost into his box office drawing power.
Because let's be real.

FAST FIVE APRIL 29 2011, coming out 3 weeks after WM27 his biggest hit ever that he was the star of, completely boosted by the WM27 hype and cross promotion)
8 of his next 11 movies made more than 100m, with a few making over 200m and one over 300m.
Let's be reality, he was a B- level attraction at the Box office, then he came crawling back home to Vince McMahon. And like before, Vince was able to help Rock get into the stratosphere.
He tried distancing himself from pro wrestling, only to come crawling back when he needed the support.
Great analysis and it coincides with him leaving his old managers as well who were determined to distance him from wrestlingNope, Rock's movie career took off after his came back @ WM27 and used his old fanbase to put a boost into his box office drawing power.

BingoHe had a flops before.. Nice effort though

It was a long period where rock wasn't even bringing up wrestling like that then he comes back and boom
Also his social media presence is just below Kevin hart dude is very active in promotion and his public persona. He gives a bad ass vibe but every story ever comes off as he's the nicest man on the planet.
He's Tim tebow with charisma for a pr perspective it's hard to hate the guy
I actually like the guy too, too hard to hate.
But it's pretty obvious where his career turned around, and it was going back to Vince and wrestling
His acting career exploded when he joined the cast of Fast Five. His return to wrestling was to promote it. I don't think he suddenly got super popular because he hosted WM and then wrestled a year later.
Muthafukka was Derek jeter without the hoesYea, more than anything else he became so popular because he created a GIMMICK for himself, which was as the juiced up badass action star.
The WM appearance definitely helped that, but it was really about the roles he started taking and the social media presence.
Before Fast Five he was this dude, doing trash roles like Tooth Fairy and trying to be something he wasn't:

That was fine by the way. The movies still made money and he was making millions, but after Fast Five, he basically became a real life version of that Hobbs character mixed with The Rock, which is prob more like how he is in real life.

I do
Thoss 3 to 4 m people who watched raw at that time, they got behind him again because he stopped treating wrestling like hiv
