Just like WWE accidentally giving Punk the deavors on his wedding day? :mjpls:

Difference being that Punk wasn't immediately offered another contract. WWE knew they had fukked up and they got a bit of public backlash for letting Rock's contract expire.

If that's the truth then you should be able to provide some evidence of said comments.

Also it should noted that WWE allowed Rock's contract to expire. He was still willing to work with them but they just let his contract lapse for no apparent reason. Vince tried to call and smooth shyt over but Rock wasn't trying to hear it.

Exactly, I remember for WM 21 he was willing to wrestle and asked for Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero or Randy Savage, and WWE countered with HBK and Dwayne said NO

Great analysis and it coincides with him leaving his old managers as well who were determined to distance him from wrestling
It was a long period where rock wasn't even bringing up wrestling like that then he comes back and boom

Also his social media presence is just below Kevin hart dude is very active in promotion and his public persona. He gives a bad ass vibe but every story ever comes off as he's the nicest man on the planet.

He's Tim tebow with charisma for a pr perspective it's hard to hate the guy
He left his managers? That makes a lot of sense. I'll elaborate in a second.

I dont agree wm27 was the catalyst though and think it was mainly fast five. Fast five was already going to be big,but it had the added effects of being the first film starring vin diesel and rock side by side which was a huge deal as both were once seen as the next generation of action stars.

Anyway,it makes a lot of sense that he changed managers.

Because rocks film choices since fast five have been very very smart. He's been attaching himself to nothing but established franchises. And even the original film,San Andreas, was a disaster film. Big budget disaster films are about the safest box office bets ever. Look at 2012 and day after tomorrow.

I think rocks draw as a movie star has been overblown and hidden by the fact he's taking roles that almost assuredly will be successful at the box office. He takes very little risk.

Baywatch itself is a franchise with worldwide recognition. That show was huge, and then selling it as "21 Jump street" style reboot was smart as hell. But apparently the movie is absolute garbage. It seemed like a safe bet if they could just make something watchable.

Truth is,before fast five rock was a struggling star, most of his films flopped terribly and he was reduced to being a star for kids films the only thing he was seeing success in.

And look at his next film, jumanji, yet another established franchise.

So him switching managers makes sense because he went from repeatedly trying and failing to be the draw of original films,to grabbing a role in every single established franchise he could find. Whoever manages him now saved him.

Why do nikkas keep sleeping on Moana? shyt is one of the best Disney movies and arguably Rock's best movie, yet no one ever talks about it when talking about Rock movies :stopitslime:

And when you watch the film it's impossible to not see or hear Rock in the movie :mjlol:

I also remember reading Vince had offered him JBL and to take the title off him, only to lose it a few days later... wonder what would have happened to Cena if that match did happen? :jbhmm:

Also, if Rock did wrestle at WM21, I wonder if he'd wrestle at WM every year like Taker, at least up till WM 29/30? :gladbron:

He was supposed to wrestle Brock at WM30 but the injury at 29 stopped that, maybe the streak wouldn't have ended if Rock/Brock had happened :francis:
