Punk ain't say or do nothing wrong to me, so I still fukks with him. At this point I see 'em as that cool homeboy that just keeps getting into BS, but it's a dap up and good vibes every time we kick it.
the MJF promo really ate him up on all levels. Too much truth to the point of detrimental consequences. Punk AEW and WWE returns reminds me a whole lot of WCW Roddy Piper pandering bullshyt nonsense promos and angles and matches the live crowds were into because they had a connection to him and were willing to forgive his shortcomings, but will hold up terribly.His AEW debut was a top 10 moment of the past 15 years, but now feels so hollow because everything he said in what seemed to be so truthful and emotional was clearly bullshyt and guy was just waiting to get the bag again from WWE, a place he swore he'd never, ever return to, and the second he did he's been the most Company Man guy they have.

I spent a lot of time around punks as a teenager/20-something skater - I never called myself a punk... I was too into hiphop culture and I enjoyed money, clothes and cars too much, but I loved a lot of their music and punk clubs are pretty great places to be.
The one thing I learnt from real punks is that they'll rock with pretty much anyone EXCEPT a plastic punk. They can smell them a mile off. If you're going to claim punk amongst punks, you've got to live punk.
CM Punk is a plastic punk. When it comes down to brass-tacks, he's about as counter-culture as Sum 41 or Good Charlotte.
He wears the clothes, he paints Xs on things, he can name bands and songs, but he's got a corporate soda logo tattooed on his fukking bicep and he proudly admits he only makes his art for the love of money and insults people who he thinks do it for the love of the art/crowd. That just isn't fukking punk.
He's full of opinions about the world until they start messing with his money, then the opinions go on hold. That just isn't fukking punk.
Dude presents as "straight-edge", but it's because of an alcoholic family member, not because of any rebellion against the excesses of punk itself or a need to see the world in all its ugly clarity... Donald Trump can call himself straight edge if CM Punk can.
Outside of all that though, he's a great wrestler, he almost always connects with a crowd and he can carry a main event with the best of them. I've never seen him wrestle live and not had a great time.
