the MJF promo really ate him up on all levels. Too much truth to the point of detrimental consequences. Punk AEW and WWE returns reminds me a whole lot of WCW Roddy Piper pandering bullshyt nonsense promos and angles and matches the live crowds were into because they had a connection to him and were willing to forgive his shortcomings, but will hold up terribly.

His AEW debut was a top 10 moment of the past 15 years, but now feels so hollow because everything he said in what seemed to be so truthful and emotional was clearly bullshyt and guy was just waiting to get the bag again from WWE, a place he swore he'd never, ever return to, and the second he did he's been the most Company Man guy they have.

The weirdest part of this is WWE was more like a renegade outlaw promotion back then when he was there compared to after the TKO merger. Based on everything he has said and done since leaving in 2013, he should hate all of this.

Truthfully, he probably does. But its his last chance at a bag. Couldnt make it in Hollywood. Literally beaten out of the UFC. Too petty to be the bigger man with Luke Perry's son so he got fired from his safety net job. He has to be ok with what WWE does because AJ wouldnt let him play Warzone on the couch all day anymore.


Punk doesnt care how he comes off to anyone, he never has. He became a star because of that fact. He works for a very MAGA company because he is making money. A LOT of people do this sort of thing. It is what it is. Still not watching though

Whether its dub fans or people here, what is it that gets them to sound like a defiant twenty something talking about "Hes a sellout, hes not a rebel" whenever he aint on their team no more.

Eh, I think it's pretty obvious. Punk sold the image of him being "the different one" from every other wrestler you liked/was successful. He rode that image for almost 20 years. He admittedly is a shyt stirrer and likes to talk shyt. You combine that with that moral high ground stuff he loved the talk about and it should not be a that difficult to figure out why people go at him when he shows himself as just another wrestler who was carnying fans to make him money a lot of fans take shyt personally, and specially the type of fan that Punk cultivated for almost two decades. It's obvious a number of them will act like scorned girlfriends when shyt doesn't go the way they envisioned.

And on the other hand, you have people like most of TSC were making fun of Punk is so easy these days that's it's impossible not to take some jokes in when the time arises
