The new CBA was brought in to handcuff rich owners like Ballmer and to reinforce parity. All true stars are locked under contract theses days and it takes a big trade to acquire them. Team ups & Big 3's are practically dead.Sure. Previous ownership might have balked at being in the tax might be more palatable to new ownership group.
Fewer broke owners I think is probably better for the league.
I thought this was well documented and known. Weren't they near the bottom of the league in terms of ownership wealth prior to this deal? The buss family must be broke
Thats because there were more broke owners than rich owners. The parity shyt was a welcome side effect and easy justification. The other owners didn't like how Balmver and Lacob were spending. The new CBA was brought in to handcuff rich owners
Bron is going to own like 1% of a team. Like Jay Z status when he owned the Nets. The Seattle Sonics and Las Vegas expansion team fees![]()
Lakers just got 3 billion more than that list has them valued at, so it really comes down to what someone is willing to pay.I had just assumed Lakers were more valuable than Knicks but I guess that's not the case. Idk how much of Knicks valuation is based on owning msg and the tv networks (which maybe aren't as valuable anymore).

Alot of that shyt prolly is overflow and being sold at a discounted price (or free)I agree and I clarified my post. I’m not saying they’re fans of the sports they just buy the apparel, primarily the hats.

It's an end-of-era feeling for the Lakers.
I hope this doesn't affect things for us Lakers fans.
This means the new owner could change the franchise forever, and by that I mean changing the logo, no more purple and gold, shyt, even change the name or relocate.
Like the previous era in Minneapolis.
This could also affect free agency. One of the attractive perspectives players had in wanting to come to LA was the history between the franchise and the Buss family.

Would Jordan selling be tossed into that pile too?In more ways than one. I don't think it's a coincidence that Cuban and not the Buss family are getting out after the Minnesota and Phoenix sale. We can talk about the 10 billion and all, but ain't no way this many teams changing hands like this in a short term a good sign.
The last three NFL teams sold were basically forced to happen.

did the buss family sell their 66% share for $10B or is the $10B the entire valuation based on the sale price of that 66%?
