nikka where tha function at tonight?
There's the haha club but theres a couple of dive ones, one is next to starbucks right on lankershim diagonal of Pitfire. I used to play pool at the spot next to it as well. I lived there from 2002 - 2010. You should also check out an italian spot called Victorio's off Victory and Vineland, on Victory right next door to the 99 cent store. BOMB pasta and spumoni, trust.
Lankershim is pretty much the place to be, lot of young upcoming black comedians, I seen Affron there a few times, in fact most of us are all at the Noho Barbershop (theres only 2 now) so you meet a gang of coo folks there.
Stay away from anything north of victory....that's where the cholos be, and not all of them are friendly lol.

. I'm gonna check that out, thanks breh. I've been fukkin with the Korean BBQ place by Fatburger hard.@True Blue Moon, congrats man...I remember in a older thread you was looking about going out there.
Did you have a job lined up before heading out there?
I wanna go out there bad & I was looking at the N Hollywood area.
I would like to hear about your experience of moving out there
Thanks man, yeah I finally did it.
I didn't have a job lined up per se, I had actually had a plan going for a while that I set into motion. I was writing for a newspaper and slowly but surely began to build up freelance writing clients as side money while working there. I planned to build that up on the side until it could be a full-time gig. Once the money started coming in, me and my wife quite our jobs and moved home with my parents for a couple of months to stack up and let me get used to freelancing full-time without having to worry about rent.
We visited over the summer and found a crib out here that we liked and put money down for it. We sold all our big stuff and pretty much only kept stuff that would fit in my car. Loaded it up and drove from VA to Los Angeles, which took 4 days including a complete day of rest in Oklahoma.
So far man everything is lovely. I'm not going to lie, we're broke right now but happy. Broke in the sense that we're watching spending and pinching pennies until we get used to things, not in the sense that we're going to be out on the street. I'd rather be safe than sorry instead of trying to keep up with people from jump and blowing all our money.
The weather is nice and the leap of faith is working out real well right now. My wife landed a job within a couple of days of being out here. It's just a retail gig to bring in money, but just the other day she had an interview for a property management company, which might actually mean we get free rent. That'd be a huge come up so I'm hoping she gets it.
I moved out here to write for TV and a couple days before I hit the road to move, I got a letter in the mail from Warner Bros. inviting me to this TV writing seminar. What happened was that I applied for a writing fellowship they have and I didn't get in, but my script was graded in the top 5% out of about 2,000 so they wanted me to come out to this invite only thing.
I actually went to that just the other day and made some good contacts with writers and got good feedback from execs in the program. Really lit a fire under my ass to keep writing and was kind of a nice reward for taking such a huge leap.
But all in all, I love it out here. One of my homegirls I used to work with at the paper just so happened to move out here a few months before I did so me and the wife have been hanging with her. She lives in the heart of Hollywood so we've gotten to see some craziness with her, hit up Rodeo Dr, see a BB King concert at the Hollywood Bowl, etc. It's lovely out here and there's no shortage of things to get into.
You considering a serious move or just kinda kicking it around right now?
I Last year I lived in Vancouver and was miserable.
