Cliffs:
- Basically all of the engineers at NASA knew that shuttle would explode because of technical problems and did everything to warn upper management to not launch until the issues were corrected.
- NASA management had a conference call with the engineers the night before the launch and pressured them to reverse their original position and agree that the launch was safe
- Management did not care because they were under pressure because they promised congress that space flying would be like commercial airlines and needed the funding
- They tried to cover up the cause for the explosion
Sickest part was a lot of the management were interviewed for this and basically said had they known what they know now, that they still would have done it. One said something to the effect of, "This is how technology moves forward."
They knowingly sacrificed 7 lives for "science"
