Where is David Blatt now?I mean he fired the coach the cavs brought in specifically to build kyrie in David blatt
But we gone forget he got the coach fired
How do you know Blatt would have changed Kyrie? He did not even do that at Duke

Curry nor Durant are better than Kawhi, let alone Lebron.

The thing is if you don't get one, then you don't have a window to compete for a title. The only team to win a title without a player that caliber was the 2004 pistons. Every team that contends for a title is built around a player that was at least a top ten pick. You have to hit the home run on that player first because the odds of finding the player that puts you over the top afterwards are slim to none. 99% of the time you end up like the hawks have been the last 10 years or with a team like the Heat currently have, which desperately needs one more star to put it over the top. Those teams were 30-35 years ago. They were out there winning titles and drafting someone first overall later that spring.
In every one of your scenarios, they either had a basketball Jesus or acquired one (and those teams won titles). None of these teams are "hey let's stay in the lotto for a long time, hopefully get multiple franchise players and watch em skyrocket to the moon. All these teams are trying that OKC Thunder format and even OKC was a lower seed when they first got in.
The mistake we make as fans is that we think there's a savior in every single draft.
