There are usually 500+ accidental gun deaths a year in America, that's what happens when you have that many guns in circulation. That has nothing to do with intentional misuse of force by cops.

You only care about this one because the shooter happened to be illegal and the victim happened to be a white woman.

The defense argued that he intentionally shot her and failed to prove their case to the jury. If they wanted an involuntary manslaughter charge then that's what they should've argued. You are right but DACA is a lose-lose for Democrats in general. They don't get DACA recipients a path to citizenship, it will be a huge blow to their Latino and urban working-class voters. Say what you want about DACA, deporting 800,000 people will hurt the hood especially in cities like Houston where working class areas have huge amounts of immigrants.

If they get what they want from DACA then many working-class, white voters will feel resentment of not being represented properly.

Ultimately weighing both options, the Dems have to stick with DACA. The negative consequences are too great for letting Trump handle DACA as he has indicated. Deporting 800k would be a humanitarian and foreign policy disaster. This isn't the 1950s, we have social media to document mass deportation now.

I never said he wasn't acquitted of involuntary manslaughter, I said that it's not what the prosecution argued, which it isn't since they made the case that he shot her intentionally.

the thing I don't get is that the defences argument was that he found the gun, picked it up and while picking it up, it accidentally went off, the bullet ricocheted and hit her.

but while being interrogated, the guy admitted that he was shooting at some animal, and thats how she ended up being shot.

how the fukk did the jury just ignore what he said and believe the defence's argument? how is that not involuntary manslaughter?

You’re trying to blow this one case way out of proportion, and make it somehow offset all the other heinous gun crimes. You’re writing your own narratives. A guy just killed 50+ people in Vegas. If you’re so up in arms about this one guy killing one woman and the impact it’ll have on elections, then what happened in Vegas should have fifty times that impact.
