Thats insane, and just like with summer game fest, big games don't even need this, a new GOW trailer releasing on a random Wednesday afternoon is getting millions of views
That’s retarded to pay that. People watch the game awards for the trailers, not for the awards or the show itself. It’s not like the Super Bowl. Surprised devs getting conned like this out here. It’d only make sense for smaller/lesser known games but I highly doubt devs like ND are paying for that. In fact I can see Geoff begging them for a trailer

It’s why game coverage is so lopsided and bias. Coverage is quite literally paid for.
1M is nothing to a big studio like ND. Lots of indies can’t afford that.
It’s not just TGA guilty of this. Publishers pay for coverage on websites as well.
