I feel you on that breh..I faxed in my signed offer letter yesterday afternoon. The one last thing to make it official is for some reason they need to verify that im currently employed ..so they have to talk to either my direct manager or somebody in a HR role..my direct manager is a big hell no so I gave them the number to a HR rep..now im like waiting for them to confirm the shyt before I go hand in my 2 week notice to my manager today...why do they need to confirm im currently employed anyways?

Not a big deal, most companies have an "employment verification" hotline. Insurance and mortgage companies request that info all the time.

An employee's salary information is confidential. Price fixing for labor is also illegal.

If you feel right doing so, lie to them and say some family shyt came up and you need to be in ATL. This offer came through so you feel right taking it because you can't really be away from home now.

I was talking to this woman over the weekend and she said they extended an offer to this guy and he used that offer to get this other company to hire him sooner. The lady was like "Oh well it happens, the other company was closer to home and had less travel"

It can't hurt to ask. The worse they could say is no and I wouldn't mention until they hire someone else. Just give them specifics of projects you'd be working on and some due dates. You probably could get more done at home than in the office anyway.
