│ │ People who complain about taxes often fail to grasp what society actually is.
│ │
│ │ If you want to go to work, earn money, and accumulate what you earn, you need society. That's what we are paying for.
│ │
│ │ The justice system is absolutely central to that. If the justice system collapses or is in a collapsing state, justice is just administered by others.
│ │
│ │ If society did collapse, all that would happen is that you would start off with huge amounts of vigilantism, then people would group together to defend their communities against vigilantism, and that would need people to contribute, then you are basically back to a primitive form of society.

│ │ IMO, taxes are never ours in the first place. Government is not spending out tax dollars. It's a subscription that we pay to be able to earn in the first place and not have to be constantly worried that someone is going to kill us to take what we have earned, but we only have to pay it while we are earning.

│ │ Living in the comfort of society, it’s easy to underestimate how brutal a world with a collapsing justice system is.
