Widening the recruiting pipeline, supplier diversity programs, product inclusion, career mentoring/development/networking programs, are all tangible programs that help minorities and are part of DEI.
And companies threw them right in the garbage once a regime change happened which is his point.

Nah his point is that these corporations never cared about civil rights or actually implementing racial bias disparity and used dei programs as " hey look we're helping minorities too!" fail safe option. to pretend otherwise after they're completely axing these programs weekly due to political climate is silly.

DEI programs are mostly about a bunch of symbolic stuff that has little tangible impact.

I've seen benefits at my employer but yea in general for most corporations it has no tangible benefits unfortunately
