The Memphis Grizzlies have traded Desmond Bane to the Magic for KCP, Cole Anthony, FOUR unprotected 1st round Draft picks and a 1st Round Pick Swap

I'm pissed it's a good pickup for the Magic.But I prefer Bane. Plus Cole is a small guard. Unless they're trading Ja too that defense is going to be terrible with both of them on the floor

Imagine being a playoff team and giving up a prime chance at AJ Dybantsa and 3 MORE, completely unprotected first round picks for... a zero-time all-star?? "B-b--bu those picks don't matter, they tryna win now in the playoffs" and how is a guy who just came off shooting 30/20 in a humiliating first round sweep, the third time he's been swept outta the first round, gonna help them do that?? Desmond fukking Bane elevating your team from a backdoor sweep to perennial contention, now I've heard it all. 
Worst part is they bid against NOBODY; coulda waited till after the draft, called guys like Giannis potential bluff, see if any other ACTUAL all-star or all-nba player asked out and threw those picks at them and THEN circled around to role players like Bane if they struck out.

Worst part is they bid against NOBODY; coulda waited till after the draft, called guys like Giannis potential bluff, see if any other ACTUAL all-star or all-nba player asked out and threw those picks at them and THEN circled around to role players like Bane if they struck out. It's always valuable, but teams think their team is ready to win now and it usually backfires. One of the picks clippers traded away was a pick OKC used to draft Jalen Williams. You never know what can happen in the NBA because it just takes 1 injury to a star player and the pick for a contending team could end up being a lottery pick .Starting to think first round picks don't mean much anymore
Or retooling around him. They can now go big game hunting with those picks especially the one next year from Phoenix.

They at least won a title but yeah you’re seeing it now how limited their flexibility to improve their team is since they don’t have control of their FRP until 2031
