actually these are hard plastic nfc chip cards... they not soft at all...

Edit: yall should use them if you use the phone omny double charges and misc charges you for rides... someone scamming

Just do the proximity trick, where you walk ALL UP behind someone and the gate stays open. It still works on the new doors.

End of an era



The 7 day unlimited was GOAT, 16 bucks (I had the reduced fare card) for unlimited rides anywhere in the five boroughs



With that being said, Metrocard was towards the end of its run, I've seen the SBS machines eat people cards before and not come back out. Tap to pay is so much better but I hear it's pay per ride only and no unlimited options yet

Scammers have put chip readers on the Metrocard machines before so your information can still get stolen.


I remember before I put my card in those metrocard machines I would tug on it to make sure a skimmer wasn't on the machine.
