To the 2 bolded, the NFL has parity is in who can win the title though.
Last 5 years you got
NY
Pittsburgh
NO
Green Bay
NY
And the difference is, no one was picking those teams to win the title in any of those 5 years. In the NBA analysts said from day one Heat vs. Thunder and that's exactly what we got.
I see your point the NFL surely does have power-houses, but they rarely come out on top where in the NBA it is a much more predictable sport and the powerhouse are far more powerful and win the titles much more often.
As far as the NBA season goes, I think it starts at entirely the wrong time to begin with. Football dominates the culture, so starting a season in October is foolish for many reasons. No one gives a damn about the NBA during the NFL season, football dominates the attention of the American fan and they also get the MLB playoffs at the same time. Just dumb timing for the NBA.
The NBA should start in February and end in August. That way it gives the fans something to tide them over from football, Baseball is almost never critical during it's run, and when it's finishing up football is just starting again and baseball still has a few weeks to go before the playoffs.
Also b-ball is a summer sport to me, look around the playgrounds, people playing that shyt now. No ones playing ball in December/January unless you got access to a gym
