I felt the same way, till more details came out and it was evident that that Judas mf'er wanted out regardless.

Well yeah, seems like it

I just think from a baseball standpoint, what he brings is going to be much harder to replace than Pete's slugging and trash defense

Yea this is where I'm at too.

And like I wrote in the other thread.. I just don't think Stearns has it in him. His mentality is 100% small market. You can't Nickle and dime your way to a World Series. If he doesn't turn this offseason around in a BIG way .. the fans will run him off. Guaranteed.

0% chance Stearns would keep him on if we don't show up to the games.
Cohen is letting him rock. Plus, he got his casino. He doesn't need the ticket sales in the immediate future.

My Pops Forever RIP
The way you hype this dude is crazy.
Pete Alonso basically put up 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs yearly as a Met.
Murakami ain't doing that as a rookie.
:camby:
Pete set the rookie record for homers as a Met. Obviously I'm not saying he's gonna hit 50+ in year 1, but he can get you 30-35 in year 1 and play better D at 1B. You also rewind the clock 6 years at the position. Can Murakami do that in a lineup with Soto, and Lindor? fukk yeah.
Besides age, why is he considered the better choice between him and Kaz?
because while Kaz is a better well rounded player, everyone seems to think he's merely a platoon player that you play when someone in the IF needs a breather.

I'd rather have the guy I can play every day regardless of who's pitching. Okamoto seems to be someone nobody wants to see hit if a lefty ain't pitching.
