I don't know how much Tucker would be interested in that or the Mets. That luxury tax hit gets harder the higher you go and Tucker is only really interested in a short term because it seems like the only team in the market willing to go long term is Toronto. He still wants that deal that takes him to the end of his career.

We'll find out soon. His birthday is in 3 days so I'm sure it'll be over by then

Streets saying the Metropolitans added a 4th year for Tucker. Tucker for 4 (with an opt out) after 2 and Framber for 3 sounds like a good Off-season.
I heard some Mets youtubers say if they get Tucker they going the trade route for a pitcher. So think Peralta. If they don't get Tucker they can spend on Valdez and will get an outfielder via trade.

I wanted us to look into Brenton Doyle from Colorado to man center for us. Brought it up on here a cpl months ago, and apparently they're inquiring about him now. He had a breakout 2024, and then him and his wife lost their newborn, and it fukked with his 2025 season. :mjcry: He's got 3 years of control still, I believe. Gold glove defense. Speed.

I also think Peralta would cost a lot less than a Skubal.. so Tarik's gonna have to wait till after the season to be a Met.

Yeah, I like Doyle to. 2024 he saved my fantasy team. He can be a stud if everything breaks right.

I got framber Valdez to orioles

Tucker to blue jays(in 6-24 hours it will be announced)

David stearns don’t know wtf he’s doing Tucker defense sucks lmao @ paying 100 mil to two terrible defenders

Soto the worst outfielder in mlb nimmo was a higher rated defender than Tucker last season and he’s considered to be declining.

- I kinda feel like Stearns is gonna pull in Valdez.
- I believe it. There's just something about Tucker that doesn't scream elite to me.. and when you're asking for 400+ mil, you need to be elite.
- Stearns is a bytch.
- Would've moved Soto to left and Tucker would've played right.. but i get your point.

Tucker, who turns 29 on Saturday, surely would deepen the Mets’ lineup. He was a Gold Glove finalist in 2020 and ‘21 and a winner in ‘22. But he has since declined in right field, and according to Outs Above Average, was a worse defensive outfielder last season than Brandon Nimmo. By the same metric, the Mets’ current $51 million per year man, Juan Soto, was the worst defensive right fielder in the game.

This from the athletic today

If I was the Mets I’d develop the prospects continue to working on improving the defense and save that dough for skubal.

I understand why Bregman would pass on the Red Sox for not allowing him a No Trade Clause.

If you have to move your family often, having control over where you live becomes important.

That part in that athletic article is dumb as hell imo. People are acting like Stearns saying he wants to improve the defense like he's gonna sign people strictly off their UZR, OAA and DRS. The defense is less of a concern simply because it's a short term deal and left field in Citifield is way easier than Wrigley. He can easily get back to average. Defensive stats are wonky sometimes as well. They'd still maneuver and use Benge, Taylor and/or the other young OFs they have (Ewing/Williams/Morabito) too.
