Cap and floor; change service time on players. I've said before, I think an NHL style system would be best for MLB players when it comes to service time.

In the NHL, players automatically become unrestricted free agents after they turn 27 or seven seasons played, whichever comes first. They get three year rookie deals when they first start and become RFAs afterwards. You almost never see other teams sign RFAs because the cost is so high for the best players but it's possible.

I'd also be in favor of a limit on contract length. NO ONE is excited when these guys sign 10+ year contracts. Everyone knows the backend is gonna be bad.

The current MLB system sucks and everyone knows it.
The union will just never allow most of that

Then they're fools. :manny:

MLB and NBA have roughly the same revenue. NBA teams spend much more on average payroll than MLB teams.

People hail all this free market nonsense when it's really just five or six teams spending.

Why aren't the Mariners linked to Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette? Or the Guardians, Brewers, Royals, etc.? They would if this was the NBA.

Y’all say Tucker , imo whoever gives bellinger 6-7 years 150+ is a fool

He needs to stay with the Yankees , in that specific park

I like Belli more than Tucker, and I know I'm in the minority here.. but at the end of the day.. I don't think I give either one 7+ years. I'd rather bump the AAV up a cpl mil instead of being tied down for 2 or so extra years.

they'd have to destroy arbitration for that. Also, that rule of 27 would destroy college baseball, because say you're Spencer Jones, you don't hold value to anyone under those circumstances, so you might as well stock up on 16 year old Dominicans.

I don’t know if the park factor stats support it but that stadium has a reputation for being tough on hitters.
If the wind is blowing in a lot of flyballs will hang. Also feel that even without wind they have some spots in the outfield that are deeper than you would expect. There times you hear a ball crack and you're like that shyt is gone and then boom it drops
