Maybe he’s at his ceiling, but no you can’t just get someone new to do that, every time you switch coaches you are just finding a different way to lose, look this ain’t it, and I’d imagine PSU is getting tired of being on the cusp, but firing him to get who ?? Who’s out there that’s better
You also gotta look at it from the standpoint of….
This is who Penn State has been for the last 30 something years
From 1995 to 2011 under Joe Pa, Penn State only had 5 10 win seasons, only 3 BCS/Major Bowl appearances, and 2 shares of the Big Ten title. In addition, there was also a stretch from 2000 to 2004 where they had 4 losing seasons.
Since James Franklin has taken over. Penn State has had 6 10 win seasons, 7 NY6/CFP bowl appearances, and a Big Ten title, and only one losing season so far
I’m not saying that James Franklin isn’t a big game choker cause he absolutely is, especially considering the talent he’s accumulated but sometimes we look at Penn State as something that they’re not, kind of like in that Notre Dame or Texas A&M type realm.
It would be a risk getting rid of someone who can recruit and has had them on the cusp of a National Title game for an unknown.
On the other hand, maybe they’re a Georgia that needs their Kirby Smart, but idk.
