So the mavericks will perhaps draft their third white savior in the history of their franchise next June.

Just like last year with the Atlanta hawks, the team who had the worst odds to win the draft lottery still wins it anyway. Bad luck for the teams who had truly horrible regular season this year. All this losing for nothing. Teams who were that bad this season and were explicitly Tanking weren’t rewarded in this league because of the new algorithm/system of the draft lottery . They don’t have the best odds to win the draft lottery anymore.

The conspiracy theorist in me believes Adam silver and the rest of the people in charge in the nba rigged the draft lottery this year for the mavs because they wanted to compensate them for trading Luka to LA. I guess the secret deal between the league and the Mavs was: You trade your franchise/best player to the lakers, and you will receive the #1 draft pick in the next draft as a gift for you for compensation what a sweet redemption

Now the Spurs get the 2nd overall pick to get either a really good prospect in Dylan Harper or Ace Bailey or they can put together a package for the 2nd overall pick + Castle + Barnes + one of either Keldon Johnson/Sochan/Vessell + multiple first round picks

If Giannis forces a trade by the draft a package like that is very enticing for the Bucks to kick start their rebuild

AD and Zion were never going to play together in NO
