Yup

Basically the league is telling those bottom team to go fukk themselves. No big free agent wants to go to bottom conference teams. Best bet for them is to hope they strike gold with lower draft pick or massively overpay some above average player and hope he ramps up his skills out there to the stardom.

Spurs and Mavericks showed they can built a championship contender and here we go...39 win and 34 win teams win two top picks.

A team in Charlotte hasn't done shyt since Baron Davis years and they don't feel confident seeing top rookies end up there.
Charlotte hasn't had a #1 pick in 30 years, league cant complain about the eastern conference being weak while at the same time having a lottery system designed to not help said conference. This whole thing is just silly how are these teams supposed to build without top talent? Nba wonder why ratings is dropping , stupid shyt like this consistently done is why. If I'm a wizards fan I had to watch my tram compatible lose 60 games to get worse picks then two fukking play in caliber teams? This is nonsense nfl does it better and the fans reward them.

I am not sure the ratings are dropping as many fans watch the streaming product, not the actual TV product

but you are right, some eastern bottom teams are fukked. Can't sign big names, can't find luck in drafting.

Pistons were bottom east team for a while, they won #1 draft pick to get Cade Cunningham and now look, they actually made the playoffs few years after that. That one draft lottery victory sometimes is what it takes for bad teams to actually become good and build something around that one really great player.

OKC Reddit is livid. They said they got a thousand picks but none of them ever hit in the lottery and it’s time for Presti make a move because these mid round and late picks ain’t it. One of them said Houston was a generationally bad team for half the decade and we ain’t get shyt from them :russ:

The thing is you don’t need the #1 pick or generational player to get you of the lottery.

Look at the Pacers for example.

Curry was 7th with Thabeet, Rubio, Tyreke Evans, and Jonny Flynn going before him. Blake and Harden actually panned out but Curry turned out to be the generational player in that draft.

Kawhi went 15th.
1st draft picks have the highest chances of having a successful career. You can find successful players from various draft picks, but 1st draft picks had the most success:

Kareem
Magic
Olajuwon
Ewing
Worthy
Robinson
Shaq
Webber
AI
Duncan
Bron
Howard
Rose
Griffin
Kyrie
AD
Edwards
Victor
KAT
Cade

Bob Lanier
Bill Walton
David Thompson

and so on and so on.

And I left out some other great names

No other draft pick has such a big set of amazing players. Five names from what I just mentioned are in the top 10 players of all time list.

This is rare and far between, anything outside of the top 3 is a complete crapshoot. And even the top 3 can be

Yea this is trash, people clown these front offices but things like this is why half the league is dog shyt. Why even discuss expansion when you have teams in permanent purgatory due to the draft?

Hornets also got to jump into the top 3 after being a 9 seed to get LaMelo, you win some you lose some :manny:

All these guys are stars and all NBA type players when healthy outside of rissacher but I won't be surprised if he's there in a few years.
