The point is that person is complaining about getting the 4th pick when they passed on an MVP at pick 11. Don't say you're in purgatory because of bad luck and ignore the bad moves the front office made.

It’s both

The fact that they’ve been arguably the least successful team of the past 20 years but have never gotten the #1 pick is kinda crazy

But also their front office has had their share of blunders despite that.

It’s also worth mentioning that teams get these generational players and fumble them all the time anyway. Look at New Orleans, went from CP3 to AD to Zion and have nothing to show for it. Cleveland had 3 #1s in 4 years and probably still wouldn’t have been shyt if LeBron didn’t go back

The chances for a high ass lottery pick being a mvp candidate let alone a player that actually is a rotational player is slim. This is like criticizing the thunder for trading the 15th pick which ultimately became sengun , anything outside of the top 3 is an absolute crapshoot which is why bad teams dropping only hurts the league.

Yea this is trash, people clown these front offices but things like this is why half the league is dog shyt. Why even discuss expansion when you have teams in permanent purgatory due to the draft?

Zach Lowe said teams voted for this system damn near unanimously (29-1)

They saw what Philly was doing and voted with emotion rather than logic. OKC was the only one that didn't vote for it because they know superstars aren't going to fukking Utah or Charlotte

Can't blame anyone but themselves
