Listening to Ab Soul's latest album, it makes perfect sense that dude could translate to battle rap easily with the Daylyt battle being evidence of it. The performance and delivery would need to improve obviously.

The audio enough though. I'm talking bar wise cuz it's obvious he was being so nonchalant with it like it was battling amongst friends lightheartedly. He'd need to perform and be even a little more aggressive and he'd be good money.
We gonna need to see footage of that battle though

It didn't come off as PGs usually do while not reaching too. Plus he didn't structure his round in a corny way. His wordplay overall in that battle as well as his album tells me he'd be good. The storytelling and concept songs in his albums/mixtapes make him look capable of writing a round around a concept/angle to me.bar wise he was 90% nameflips on some PG shyt

I dunno about that b. Performance comes with comfort. Performance gets better the cleaner your delivery is while not putting people to sleep via your flow and tonality.
Joe's arrogance about his battle whether that was pausing too much or acting like he was on a beat on cruise control made his performance trash. There was basically no kind of performance there cuz he took the battle with a whole lot of arrogance as the successful rapper.

I'm saying though for a newbie (Idk his battle history, if any) it's kind of hard to believe he can spit a 9 min round flawlessly like that without stumbling or reading off something
Fair point, I wouldn't be surprised though if he did since he is a rapper and has had to perform songs and all that.
