I don't understand this obsession with wanting these "mainstream" rappers to battle

I can understand why the battle rapper & leagues would want to do it. Exposure

I don't understand why an educated battle rap fan would though. This is a craft. Like any craft, you need experience. Taking a "mainstream" rapper & putting him in one battle against a top tier guy is not only a predictable outcome, but could just make for a non entertaining battle. It's bullshyt. You have to build yourself up, but the "mainstream" guy would make too much money & no promoter is gonna pay him to take a bum.

It's just stupid listening to people say "I think blah blah blah" could battle. Sure, after about 5 battles he may be able to do it.

You could only say this after total slaughter. Before it would've just seemed too unpredictable to say for sure.

you put an experienced big name battle rapper against a mainstream rapper with no stage experience, the mainstream rapper will lose the battle.You need experience to be a good battle rapper.

The irony of the cassidy thing is all of his relevancy in the past year has come talking about whether or not he'll battle someone.
