"Inside Battle Rap" Part 1
It's 5 minutes before me and Verb go on stage. I'm rehearsing my 3rd rd in the dressing room having a funny feeling I'd desperately need it. I hear my name being called to the stage. I come out into the hall leading to the stage and I see Aye Verb in a dark corner quietly going over his rounds. That moment, I knew he was taking this battle serious. shyt! We both walk on stage to a sea of cheers. They ask if either of us wants to volunteer. Neither of us wants to go first. We wanted to hear what we were up against. Verb chooses heads on the coin toss. Heads. I turn my back to him not wanting to see him point me to go first, which he does. Here goes nothing. I come out swinging. Immediately attacking everything from his motivation to rap to questioning his sexual preferences! Every punch is landing! Crowd is going wild! Then it came. The "Chaz" name flip. Shakes the building! Crowd is begging me to say it again! Even Verb asks me to say it over. I do. They go wild again! I knew I'd already won round 1. Or so I thought. Verb opens up his round delivering a dizzying array of slick innuendos and clever punches. He Is rare form. Possibly his best ever. After I had put him in a hole, he has manages to pull off a near impossible feat and has overshadowed my incredible 1st round! Verb up 1-0. He walks up and whispers Your Move. fukk. I go into my zone because if I don't win this 2nd round I'm finished. I deliver a classic round filled with room shaking bars! I got the momentum back. Verb delivers a near equal classic round, including a magnificent "Showtime"! Still, his round doesn't quite match mine. Crowd yelling 1 to 1! Tie game. I walk up to him and whisper. ..your move. He smiles. Going into the 3rd round we both knew we had a classic. To be continued.....

I don't doubt how the battle proceeded but Myers is definitely embellishing on how epic/classic the battle was. One thing I've learned over the last year or so is that battles rarely live up to the hype that twitter updates create for them.
Consistently good rounds = classic instead of a good battle.
I'm expecting it to be better than Day vs Verb though.
