Oh, Ill came with it, no doubt. Rex probably had less overall bars. But more hard hitting to me. Rex whole verse is classic, I think people in here would remember that one over Ill's.
Plus Rex almost was rapping like a standup comedian there, the crowd control was insane. And that's in STL!!! Nowadays I don't think hometown crowds give the other guy a shot, because they know how the reaction affects the battle. But back then, Rex had that crowd shook. Playing up the idea that the real street shyt comes from New York. And I think even Ill's homies were convinced that was true after his round.

STL crowds are never biased. Always show love to battlers no matter where they from. But i dont think Rex had any one shook breh, that just nonsense

Goodz got round 1. Hollow was playing way too much that first round and Goodz came out firing.
2nd round Hollow warmed up and started heating Goodz up. Goodz was okay in the 2nd, but was getting repetitive. Hollow got that round clearly.
Hollow was winning the 3rd imo, Goodz pretty much forfeited.
Hollow had some lines about Goodz rap career stalling, but they just don't hit as hard when your music is as horrible as Hollow's is.
The feel of the battle was weird, there just wasn't enough tension between the two. No one got cooked. Goodz has never been cooked honestly, you can pick apart his pengame all day but it just hasn't happened.
I always had that battle debatable. But I watched it recently and I gave it to Verb. When Math did the Biggie impersonation
Math killed himself with the Biggie shyt. I still wish he never did that, it was really the first time Math ever did anything really corny.

People say Xcel lacks performance, but I grew up with a lot of snobby (for lack of a better term) Godbody cats who carried themselves like that so to me he's a very relatable character.

I think Ill won, but when you factor in Rex winning over the crowd I can't even argue if you say you edged Randy.

It's a nice battle. I think battling Goodz could help a lot of the newer guys refine their material. They'd have to put extra effort into not looking or sounding corny, which is something that the vast majority of them need to do anyway.
If Goodz just decided to do one rounders like Danja Zone & Ah Di Boom for the rest of his career, I'd be perfectly happy with that.
