Same to me as "he has the best pen game" i.e. some elitist bullshyt...

I won't ever give Nuborn a chance after losing to Sco.....him n JC the Kings of small league battles.

Then he wonders why Chilla Jones won't battle him.

Definitely attacking each other. If I wanted to just hear someone's best bars, I'd listen to cyphers from my favourite studio rappers.
Yup.
But I'm noticing people say "I wanna see a barfest" it's basically saying "I wanna see a cypher" and that's how that shyt comes out whenever I see "it was a bar fest" sometimes I won't even watch the shyt.

I totally agree. A lot these battles are filled with bars that could be used for anybody and I think we should be past that phase in battle rap. I wanna hear both rappers go in and attack each other's characters for the most part.

ATTACKING each other or nah? Or is it just "spit your best bars?"
Barfest has to have at least 50% personal attacks (that includes nameflips). I never expect any battle to be 100% personal. A good example of a highly personal attack was Clips on Rex. It was highly personal, but there were still "universal bars" (think choice in the elevator). He just weaved them into rhyme schemes with personals.

A barfest has to seem cohesive, but not every punch has to be personal. The overall feel of the rounds DO have to be personal and tailored for the opponent... otherwise it's a cypher verse.

Thinking even more into it, I define a haymaker as a high impact personal punchline. A roomshaker is just anything that causes that big reaction (Brizz's NY pizza line, or machete line), a haymaker is a personal roomshaker (big gerald, the nerve of a nikka, clips "i don't plan to let you live to tell your side of the story")

Iono breh... I don't mind there being several different ways a battler can differentiate their style either. If there weren't categories and different camps, the shyt would go stale quick I think. It had to grow laterally to survive I think.

Fair enough, I personally feel there's too many battlers anyway...Concrete Carl's PG shouldn't even be shown if he's not a certain level.

We first saw Mook, Jae Millz, ICE, Lux, Young Miles, Rex who were basically vets then the Verbs,Surfs etc.

Everybody wants to shine now...
